A family from Dublin turned to adoption law specialists, Ridley & Hall Solicitors when they found that they were unable to continue caring for their son. They had moved to Ireland to get the support from their family due to the extreme behaviour whom they had adopted through Poole.
Commenting Nigel Priestley who represented them said “They tried every resource in Dublin to get help both for him and to support them as a family. Sadly the specialist advice and support was not available. They had kept Poole in touch with the problems they were facing and felt that in the end only in England were the therapeutic resources their son needed.”
“After their son was accommodated by Poole, care proceedings were begun and came before Baker J in the High Court in Bournemouth. His judgement has now been reported
This is an extremely sad case for the child and the family. Adopters can find themselves facing breakdown due to the lack of specialist resources. Thankfully Poole have responded in a responsible way and the Irish authorities are now working closely with the family to ensure he gets the long term help he needs.”
