The Adoption Legal Centre has welcomed the introduction of an Adoption Legal Helpline in the Yorkshire and Humber area.

Samantha Sanders, a lawyer at the Adoption Legal Centre commented:

“It is a vital helpline for all potential adopters in the local area, as it is being run by people who have already been through the adoption process.  It follows on from the government making promises to make further funds available to Local Authorities to provide adoption support.

At the Adoption Legal Centre we feel that adoption support is one of the key issues which needs to be addressed by Local Authorities.  Hopefully this helpline will assist potential adopters in the local area as to whether adopting is for them and help identify what support could be available.  It would be great if this could be rolled out nationwide”.
